Worked alongside Josh down in Binghamton he is a class act and works hard he deserves respect and I cant wait to see his game mature and grow over the coming years

I think Rising star is a bit much but not the worst player in the mets organization to be tagged rising star. It may mean highly serviceable ml player.

You heard it incorrectly. The Giants want to trade Barry Zito for Luis Castillo, in an exchange of underperforming, overpriced players.

We have only this season for Luis’ contract. Here’s what your shrewd Giants owe Zito:
2011:$18.5M, 2012:$19M, 2013:$20M, 2014:$18M club option ($7M buyout).

Zito eats up about 20% of the Giants payroll in 2011. Not even Omar would trade Luis for Barry now.

You guys are so darn lucky….. the Giant fans are really pissed to be stuck with a loser like Buster Pposey, while you have the Luis Castillo of catchers, Josh Thole, punch and judy hitter and mediocre to terrible receiver Josh Thole… rising star… right, …. think the giants would deal posey and Tim for Thole….hahaha.. you all think the giants would win that deal don’t you…. hahahahahahaha

Maybe this doesn’t quite fit here but anyway when watching Kevin Burkhardt’s interview with Mike Pelfrey on Mets Hot Stove the other night when Pelfrey started promoting the chances of the team’s success by noting the team’s lineup two things stuck out to me: he mentioned 7 players by name as good hitters to demonstrate that the lineup should be good, including mentioning Thole; and he did not mention any second baseman.

So Pelfrey is on board with Thole and since they have to work together so closely that’s a good thing.

..and remember towards the end of last season some of the veterans complained about a rookie telling them “we’re not trying hard enough” I don’t remember the exact time but I think it was later in the season. I believe it was Thole. I hope he hits w/a little more power cuz he’s one of my favorite Mets – he’s a gamer.

Thole is definatly one of my favorites, I look forward to watching him grow as a catcher, and as a hitter. Kinda reminds me of a young Todd Hundley when he first broke in. (The only problem is I dont want anybody wearing “The Great Nolan Ryan’s” number!! cause although his career with the Mets wasnt his best years, He went through Our system and did start that masterful career here,(If i remember correctly, he also got the first playoff win ever for The Mets, it is the only place he got a ring, and The Mets are the only team to NOT retire his number, yet we HAD to retire #42 and he never even played for the Mets.
Just sayin
