Frank and his family live in the Orlando area. In retirement he coached at a Orlando prep school and, I think, at an Orlando area high school. He has an uncle who lives on the east coast of Florida about 25 miles south of the Kennedy Space Center. I’ve run into him several times. The uncle is a Phillies fan (but let’s not hold that against Frank!!!) LOL

Thanks Sarge. They have podcasts but I guess Viola was not big enough to bother posting. It would of been good to have the audio so I could of possibly posted it to see what others felt as well.

It was on 740, The Game in Orlando on the Sports RX, Tues., Jan. 25,that runs from 3-6 pm and he was on from 4 to about 4:15.

I was clearly disapointed especially when he said that he could not at that time mention the wk he was going to do for Mets but he could later, then went into the 2015 as the time frame for Mets to be a good team.
Wow, this really inspires me to have him coaching my pitchers!

I don’t know if his interview was on Podcast but the it is available on the website.

the ridiculous part is going out 5 years. That is a full generation, if not 2, in BB terms!

trying to even look at 2012 now is a total stretch.

if he really said that in public, and it can be substantiated, then the team should fire him today.

Hey great news but I listened to Viola on a local sports talk radio show here in Orlando yesterday and he hinted at not wanting to make derogatory comments about Mets before announcement of his job but he stated that Mets won’t be a good team until 2015 at the latest, sheesh thanks Frank for the confidence build up considering you have not even began to see what Mets have in system or what type of money will be spent by FO in 2012 or 2013.

I liked when he pitched for Mets but he has on many occasion has gone out of his way to bash Mets, though many moves were ridiculous, but I hope he brings a more positive attitude to those young arms he will be working with.
