No Chance Grienke Will Accept Trade To NY

For those Mets fans hoping that Kansas City ace Zach Grienke could somehow end up in a Mets uniform this offseason, Jon Heyman puts damper on that notion.

The 2009 Cy Young winner could be traded this offseason, but he can veto a trade to 15 teams, and based on Heyman’s tweet, the Yankees and Mets could very well be two of those teams.

With Cliff Lee obviously not an option, and now Grienke off the table, the Mets will have to be very creative if they want to add a top of the rotation starter to the staff. Maybe some other big names will hit the trading block as the hot stove heats up.
