On Friday I posted via Twitter that Jon Daniels will be staying put as the general manager of the Texas Rangers.

That information came from two people I spoke to who were close to Daniels. They told me he was looking forward to working for Nolan Ryan, was proud of what they have built together, and that he really loves his job.

Today, I asked Richard Durrett who covers the Texas Rangers for ESPN about it, and he confirmed that Daniels will remain the GM of the Rangers.

That’s too bad, I really preferred Daniels over all the other potential candidates. Next on my list is Jerry DiPoto.
