Francoeur Reacts To The Trade, Wishes Mets Well

Here is a video courtesy of Adam Rubin and ESPN New York on Jeff Francoeur reacting to the trade.

Francoeur had no hard feelings and in fact was grateful to the Mets for sending him to a team that will be heading to the Post Season.

Obviously, the Mets see that I don’t fit in the plans next year here. They’re giving me an opportunity and taking care of me, and for that I can forever be grateful. They’re not going to need me as a fourth outfielder. This is an opportunity for me to go play for a World Series.

There’s tons I’m going to miss, man. I wish everybody on this team the best. I have so many good friends here and so many guys that I respect, and hopefully they can get it turned around.

By the time he finished speaking with reporters, the Mets had already cleaned out his locker, and after a few hugs and hand shakes, he was gone.
