The Mets took the rubber game of the series with a 4-0 win over the Rockies thanks to the likes of Johan Santana. Santana pitched a complete game shutout and kept the relievers in the bullpen. Reyes and Beltran both had a multiple game. The Mets get back to .500 on the season.
Johan Santana pitched an absolute gem today. If you missed it, I really hope you recorded it because this was not one to miss! Maybe his best start of the season. In the wake of another bullpen blow up and the Frankie Rodriguez scandal, Johan seems to bring peace within the clubhouse. Santana had four 1-2-3 innings, including the first inning where he struck out the side. The second Mets starter to do that. The first was Pelfrey in May. The Ace went for the complete 9 innings pitched, not giving up any runs and only four hits. He walked two batters and struck out ten Colorado batters. Santana gets his tenth win of the season.
The first game of the series the Mets only had four hits. The second game the Mets only had three hits. This game the Mets beat both of those games combined with nine hits for the Mets. Mets scored a pair of runs in both the first and seventh innings.
Carlos Beltran and Jose Reyes both had a multiple hit game. Reyes went 2-4 with an RBI, a run scored and stole two bases. Beltran went 3-3 with an RBI and a double.
Pagan, Thole, F-Mart, Davis and Santana all had one hit in the game. F-Mart also had his first RBI of the season.
Tejada and Hessman both had an 0-fer game.

Johan “The Ace” Santana had a complete game shutout and helped the Mets win the series.
R.A. Dickey looks to rebound off of his poor outing last time out as he will begin game one against division rivals the Phillies. Philadelphia will have former World Series MVP Cole Hamels on the mound for them. Both pitchers will be looking for their eighth win of the season. Game time is 7:10 PM.
