All four prospects had rough days today, with the three offensive ones (Duda, Evans, Nieuwenhuis) taking 0-fers, and Michael Antonini (semi-prospect), getting crushed for 5 runs on 7 hits (3 homers) in 6 innings.

AA Eastern League: Binghamton 4/7/1, Reading 2/6/0

Mark Cohoon’s excellent string of starts in Binghamton reached 4 in a row, he’s got 7 or more in 3 of those 4, and finishes off his month of August 4-0, with a 1.60 era. Over his last 4 outings, he’s 4-0 with a 1.29 era in 28 innings, with 20 hits, 4 walks, and 23 strikeouts. Today, he went 8 innings, allowing 5 hits and 2 UER with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. Manuel Alvarez worked a scoreless 9th for his 7th save.

The Mets offense had 7 hits and a 3/8 BB/K, while going 2 for 5 with RISP and leaving 4 on base. Jose Coronado and Zach Lutz had multi hit games, while Josh Satin, Brahiam Maldonado and Luke Montz (0 for 3, run, BB, .206) took 0-fers.

The Mets offense exploded for 16 hits and a 5/11 BB/K, while going 10 for 20 with RISP and leaving 11 on base, en route to a 10-2 blowout of the Miracle. Each of the top 7 in the order had at least one hit, six had 2, and two had 3. Richard Lucas took the only 0-fer. Jim Fuller threw 5 shutout innings for his 2nd FSL victory.

Steve Winnick was awful in relief of Chase Huchingston and Tony Feliz, Winnick gave up 4 runs on 3 hits and 3 walks in 2 innings (all 4 runs in the 7th) as Winnick lost the game, 4-3. The Mets offense did their job with 6 hits and a 3/5 BB/K, despite going just 1 for 5 with RISP and leaving 6 on base.

Eduardo Aldama had a decent outing tonight, but that wasn’t good enough as the Mets dropped the backhalf of the twinight doubleheader, 3 to 1. Aldama gave up 2 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings for his 3rd loss of the season. The Met offense had just 3 hits and a 2/5 BB/K, while going hitless in 8 ABs with RISP and leaving 5 on base.
