8/28 Minor League Report! Gee, Ceciliani, ALMONTE, Aderlin!

AAA International League: Buffalo 4/7/1, Scranton 0/7/1, Game 1

Dillon Gee continues to further the single season strikeout record for the Bisons, he racked up 11 more tonight, though he took a ND, leaving after 5.2 innings. Lucas Duda and Nick Evans both doubled and scored a run, Kirk Nieuwenhuis took another 0-fer, and struck out twice.

The Bisons had a chance to pull to within a half game of the wildcard, but they fell short, with Jose De La Torre giving up a 6th inning run to provide the margin of victory for the Yankees, 2-1. A Val Pascucci homer had tied it in the top of the inning, the only offense the Bisons got. All 3 prospects in the order took 0-fers.

Eddie Kunz had a meh start today, giving up 2 runs on 4 hits in 5 innings for his 7th win, Manuel Alvarez pitched 2 innings and allowed a run, but picked up his 6th save.

The Mets offense had 8 hits and a 2/9 BB/K, while going 1 for 3 with RISP and leaving 4 on base. Jose Coronado, Brahiam Maldonado and Luke Montz had multi hit games, while Jordany Valdespin, Josh Satin and Sean Ratliff took 0-fers.

Elvin Ramirez’ AA debut was largely a success, despite him giving up the game winning run in the bottom of the 9th, he allowed just that run on 2 hits (but 4 walks) in 2.1 innings. Edgar Ramirez started and went the first 5, allowing 3 hits while striking out 7. Roy Merritt had a miserable outing, giving up 4 runs (2 earned) on 2 hits (including a homer) and a walk.

The Mets offense had 6 hits and a 2/11 BB/K, while going 0 for 4 with RISP and leaving 3 on base.

The Mets offense did their job tonight with 6 runs on 11 hits and a 5/7 BB/K, while going 3 for 5 with RISP and leaving 7 on base, but the pitching, especially out of the bullpen, and the defense let them down. Wilmer Flores made 2 errors tonight, and Brandon Moore also made one, leading to 3 UER off Moore. Nick Carr gave up 2 runs to get tagged with a BS, and Rhiner Cruz gave up the game winner by walking 4 in the 9th, to take his 5th loss.

The Gnats offense had 7 hits and a 3/6 BB/K, while going just 2 for 13 (.154) with RISP and leaving 8 on base. Travis ozga had the only multi hit game.
