8/27 Minor League Report! STINSON!

AAA International League: Buffalo 4/11/0, Syracuse 2/9/3

Josh Stinson had an outstanding outing tonight for the Bisons, with 7 shutout innings to lead Buffalo to a 4-2 victory. Lucas Duda and Nick Evans, who combined for a miserable 1 for 13 yesterday in the 14 inning game, were a combined 4 for 9 tonight. Kirk Nieuwenhuis had an RBI double in the 7th.

Dylan Owen got crushed for 7 runs (6 earned) on 8 hits (3 homers) in 5+ innings for his 4th EL loss of the season, and the Mets managed just a run on 5 hits and a woeful 2/15 BB/K, while going 1 for 4 with RISP and leaving 7 on base. Jordany Valdespin, Sean Ratliff and Raul Reyes took 0-fers, no Met had a multi hit game.

Jeurys Familia had a decent outing tonight, nothing to write home about, but only 2 walks in 5.1 innings is a very positive continuation of his last few starts (11/51 BB/K in 36.2 August innings). Rhiner Cruz was bailed out by rain, he’d walked the bases loaded in the 8th when it started to rain, so he got a save, in a dicey manner.

The Mets offense had 6 hits and a 2/10 BB/K, while going 2 for 7 (.286) with RISP and leaving 4 on base.

Collin McHugh had a decent outing tonight, giving up 2 runs (1 earned) on 4 hits and 3 walks in 5 innings for his 5th win of the season. Brandon Sage got his 6th save. The Gnats offense had 8 hits and a 3/9 BB/K, while going 2 for 10 with RISP and leaving 5 on base. Jordan Abruzzo had the only multi hit game, while Jet Butler (0 for 3, K, .232) and Luis Nieves took 0-fers.

Gonzalez Germen’s SAL debut was a rousing success, a 7 inning CG 3 hitter to lead the Gnats to a 2-1 victory and a sweep of the twinight doubleheader. The Gnats offense had 2 hits and a 5/6 BB/K, while going hitless in 4 ABs with RISP and leaving 5 on base. Jordan Abruzzo once more had the only multi hit game, the only two hits of the game for the Gnats.
