8/12 Minor League Report! FAMILIA, AR ROD, Vaughn!

A+ Florida State League: St. Lucie 2/7/0, Palm Beach 4/10/1

Jeurys Familia put together back to back outstanding starts for one of the few times this season, this one was even better then his previous outing. He allowed a run on 7 hits in 7 innings, but took a tough ND after Elvin Ramirez got ripped for 3 runs in 0.1 innings. In Familia’s last two outings, he’s worked 13.2 innings, allowing 11 hits, 1 run, with 2 walks and 18 strikeouts. Side note: Michael Powers may officially have a 0.00 era, but he’s allowed 4 of 5 inherited runners to score in 2 outings. The Met offense had 7 hits and a 2/6 BB/K ratio, while going 1 for 6 with RISP and leaving 6 on base.

Armando Rodriguez had a very good outing tonight, giving up just 2 runs (1 earned) on 6 hits in 6 innings, but he took the loss as the Gnats were shutout on 6 hits while striking out 13 times. Matt den Dekker continues his torrid start in Savannah with 3 more hits, all doubles.

The Mets led this game 5-4 going to the bottom of the 9th, when Michael Weldon got blitzed for 4 runs to blow the save and take the loss. Jon Kountis started and wasn’t very good, giving up 3 runs on 2 hits and 3 walks in 4 innings. TJ Chism gave up an UER in 2.2 innings and was in line for the win until Weldon blew up.

The Met offense did their job with 11 hits and a 3/8 BB/K, while going 3 for 9 with RISP and leaving 7 on base. Aderlin Rodriguez, Lucas Stewart and Brandon Brown had multi hit games, while Ismael Tijernia and Taylor Freeman (0 for 3, 3 Ks, .200) took 0-fers.
