The Mets rallied for 6 in the bottom of the 9th, overcoming a 6-1 deficit to win it, 7-6, after Josh Stinson had his first ineffective start of the season, giving up 5 runs in 5 innings. Edgar Ramirez picked up the win with 2 scoreless innings. Luis Hernandez had a walkoff 2 run double. Kirk Nieuwenhuis played his first game since June 12th, but went 0 for 4 with 3 strikeouts. Nick Evans took the other 0-fer, no Met had a multi hit game. The Mets were 5 for 9 (.556) with RISP and left 5 on base, with a 5/8 BB/K ratio.

Robert Carson had another OUTSTANDING outing today, though his final line doesn’t reflect it, he had a 5 hit shutout through 7, then gave up 2 in the 8th and left with 2 more on, both of whom scored off Erik Turgeon.

The Mets offense had 11 hits and a 2/10 BB/K, while going 4 for 12 with RISP and leaving 6 on base. Juan Lagares, Stefan Welch and Richard Lucas took 0-fers, while Wilmer Flores, Kai Gronauer, Michael Fisher and Joey August had multi hit games. Flores is hitting .455 through his first 5 FSL games, even if all 10 of his hits are singles (10 for 22).

The Gnats got blown out today, giving up 7 runs after play resumed, but it was Darin Gorski who took the loss, giving up 2 runs on 3 hits in 3 innings yesterday. Brandon Sage gave up 6 runs in his 3 innings to ice the game for Asheville. The Gnats were held to just 6 hits and a walk, while striking out 6 times. Wilfredo Tovar had the only multi hit game, while RJ Harris (0 for 3, BB, 2 Ks, .182), Cesar Puello, Juan Torres, Travis Ozga (0 for 3, K, .200) and Alonzo Harris took 0-fers.

Darrell Ceciliani, Cory Vaughn and Yohan Almonte, the 3 legit prospects who played today, all had good games, with Ceciliani having the biggest with 3 more hits, he’s now hitting .409 in 11 games (18 for 44). Vaughn had 2 more hits including his 3rd homer, and Almonte went the front 5, allowing just a run for his 2nd win.
