The Mets used 3 in the 7th and 7 in the 8th to turn a 3-3 tie into a 10 run rout late, brutalizing the Rock Cat bullpen in the process. Luis Hernandez, Sean Ratliff and Josh Satin had multi hit games, while Omir Santos (0 for 4, RBI, .138) took the only 0-fer. The Mets were 6 for 9 with RISP, while leaving 7 on base, they amassed 14 hits and 3 walks, while striking out 5 times. Josh Stinson worked the first 5 innings, giving up 4 hits and 3 runs (1 earned, Jose Coronado and his errors), with 6 strikeouts. Eddie Kunz picked up the win with 2 scoreless in relief.

Brad Holt’s first FSL outing this season went as awfully as his previous EL outings did, meaning pretty awful. Not only did he give up 5 runs (4 earned) on 8 hits, he also put Tony Sanchez (Pirates 4th overall pick in 2009) in the hospital after hitting him in the face with a pitch, one of 3 batters Holt hit today.

The Mets offense had 6 hits and 2 walks in the game, but were just 1 for 6 with RISP, left 8 on, and struck out just 3 times. Wilfredo Tovar, Stefan Welch, and Richard Lucas took 0-fers.
