Chris Schwinden got ripped for 5 runs on 5 hits in 5 innings for his 2nd AA loss tonight. The Mets offense was stymied, compiling just 5 hits and a walk, while striking out 13 times, and going hitless in 6 ABs with RISP, and leaving 6 on base. Both Met runs came off solo homers by Nick Evans. Kirk Nieuwenhuis, Luis Hernandez (0 for 4, .287), Reese Havens, Eric Campbell, and Carlos Guzman took 0-fers.

Jeurys Familia’s 4th outing back off the DL was his worst, he gave up 4 runs (3 earned) on 5 hits and 4 walks in 4 innings, but got a ND after his offense bailed him out. Jimmy Johnson picked up the win with 2 hitless innings in relief.

The Mets offense had 8 hits and drew 4 walks, while going 3 for 11 (.273) with RISP, leaving 4 on, and striking out 8 times. Jordany Valdespin and Brahiam Maldonado had multi hit games, while Hector Pellot (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .167), Richard Lucas, and Joey August (0 for 3, run, .304) took 0-fers.

Collin McHugh took the start today in Mark Cohoon’s place, and didn’t pitch terribly, giving up 3 runs (1 earned, Jefry Marte’s 15th error in 39 games) on 6 hits, but he took the loss. The Gnats offense had just 6 hits and 2 walks, while going 1 for 6 with RISP, leaving 5 on, and striking out 7 times. Michael Fisher had the only multi hit game, four Gnats took 0-fers.
