AA Eastern League: Binghamton 4/6/1, New Britain 3/4/0

Reese Havens had another 2 homer outburst today, numbers 4 and 5 in Binghamton, in just 44 ABs, and a 6/10 BB/K ratio. Overall this season, he’s got 4 2b, 3 3b and 8 HR in 101 ABs, and a 14/28 BB/K ratio. Havens had the only multi hit game, while Kirk Nieuwenhuis, Eric Campbell, Mike Nickeas (0 for 3, BB, 2 Ks, .280), and Jon Malo (0 for 3, 2 Ks, .245) took 0-fers.

Josh Stinson’s second AA start was meh, he gave up 2 runs on 2 hits and 3 walks in 5.1 innings, his longest outing of the season. Both Scott Shaw and Derrick Ellison blew saves, before Clint Everts won it with 2 scoreless innings.

Mark Cohoon was downright dominant tonight, firing a CG 3 hit shutout with 10 strikeouts as the Gnats rolled over the Tourists 6-0. The Gnats got him all the runs he’d need with 2 in the 5th, but tacked on 4 on the 7th for good measure.
