Note To Mets: You Win Some, You Lose Some
This couldn’t be more true. They win a few, they lose a few, then they win a few more. That’s not exactly the consistency we’re looking for. Every time you start to think that this team is the team to beat, wham-oh!! They go on a losing streak. Similarly, every time you think that they suck beyond belief, bam!! They go on a tear.
The key to a winning season — or at least .500 ball — is taking series from your opponents. And while they certainly impressed us, wiping the floor with the Phillies and Yankees, the Mets have not been consistent enough to sway their fans in either direction. Make up your minds, boys!
So what does a New York Mets fan do?
If nothing else, the inconsistency will keep us in the game (no pun intended). It will keep us on the edge of our seats, anxiously awaiting the outcome of this season.
I guess that’s good enough.
