Johan Deserved A Better Fate
I can already imagine all the “Fire Jerry Manuel” posts that we’ll be seeing tomorrow morning when we log onto our computers.
Why didn’t he leave Johan in…
Why didn’t he let Pedro Feliciano pitch the entire inning…
Why didn’t we bring in Jenrry Mejia…
Personally, I didn’t have a problem with taking Johan Santana out after eight innings, so I’m not going to knock Jerry.
Instead, if you’re going knock someone, how about we knock Ryota Igarashi who has looked terrible since he came back. That and the fact that right handed hitters feast on his offerings to the tune of .294/.429/.471 this season.

The real victim tonight is Johan Santana…
Another brilliant performance wasted…
The Mets bats have been coming up woefully short for Johan lately… Of course this is nothing new for Johan and the Mets… Easilly, he should have a dozen more wins in his Mets career…
In Santana’s last four starts he has a sterling 0.94 ERA in 29.2 innings with 25 K’s and just 8 BB’s. However, he has only one win and three no-decisions to show for it. These are the games the Mets have absolutely have to find a way to win.
We can’t keep wasting solid efforts like this from our ace.
Johan deserved a better fate tonight.
