5/19 Minor League Report! Nieuwenhuis!

AAA International League: Buffalo 10/12/2, Charlotte 6/8/0

Dylan Owen’s first career AAA outing was surprisingly good, he allowed just 3 runs on 6 hits in 7 innings for the win. The Binghamton connection continued with Jose De La Torre finishing out the game, giving up 3 runs (1 earned) in the final 2 innings. Josh Thole and Ruben Tejada both played tonight, as did Russ Adams, so that’s good news for Bison fans.

AA Eastern League: Binghamton 4/11/2, Bowie 6/12/0

Michael Antonini had a rough outing today, giving up 4 runs on 6 hits in 5 innings for his 4th loss of the season. The Mets offense had 11 hits and a walk, and were 3 for 9 (.333)0 with RISP, left 7 on base, and struck out 10 times. After a few days off, Kirk Nieuwenhuis responded with a 3 hit game, driving his average back over .300. Carlos Guzman, Mike Nickeas and Jose Coronado also had multi hit games, while Marshall Hubbard (0 for 4, 3 Ks, .269), Brahiam Maldonado and Hector Pellot (0 for 4, .143) took 0-fers.

Kyle Allen lasted just 3.1 innings today, giving up 2 runs on 3 hits and 4 walks, he took a ND. Allen, who had been turning his season around, took a step back with his short effort today, but he stil has a 4.87 era in May, compared to a 6.00 in April. Jimmy Johnson came in, and allowed one of Allen’s IHR to score, before giving up a run on 2 hits of his own to take the loss. Rhiner Cruz and Marcos Tabata gave up 3 runs in 3 innings to put the game out of reach.

The Mets offense had 10 hits and a walk, while going 3 for 15 with RISP, leaving 10 on base, and striking out 11 times. Eric Campbell and Josh Satin had multi hit games, while Raul Reyes (0 for 4, BB, 2 Ks, .212) took the only 0-fer.

The Gnats were once again stifled offensively, held to a run on 6 hits and 2 walks in losing for the 4th time in a row. The Gnats were 1 for 9 with RISP, and left 6 on base, while striking out 9 times. Juan Lagares and Rafael Fernandez had multi hit games, while 5 players took 0-fers. Despite pitching well, Jim Fuller took the loss, giving up 2 runs on 4 hits with 8 strikeouts in 6 innings.
