5/12 Minor League Report! NIEUWENHUIS, WELCH, CAMPBELL, LAGARES!

AAA International League: Buffalo 8/15/0, Louisville 7/9/0

Dillon Gee was pitching very well into the 7th, but then the wheels came off, as he allowed 3 runs on a hit, a walk, and a HBP. John Lujan came in with runners on 1st and 2nd with 2 down, but allowed both IHR to score, along with one of his own to blow the save. Elmer Dessens picked up his 5th win with 2 scoreless innings of relief.

Ruben Tejada bounced back from his 0-fer yesterday with a 2 hit game today. Jason Pridie, Jesus Feliciano, Mike Jacobs and Tony Maccani also had multi hit games.

Michael Antonini was roughed up for 5 runs on 6 hits in 5.2 innings for his 3rd loss of the season today, and the Mets offense had 10 hits and 6 walks, but were a woeful 2 for 14 (.143) with RISP, left 10 on base, along with 5 strikeouts. Kirk Nieuwenhuis and Brahiam Maldonado had 3 hit games, while Nick Evans, Carlos Guzman and Jon Malo (0 for 3, BB, .238) took 0-fers.

A+ Florida State League: St. Lucie 5/11/2, St. Lucie 10/19/1

The Mets had one of their biggest offensive games of the season, with 10 runs on 19 hits and 4 walks, while going 5 for 16 (.313) with RISP, and leaving 9 on base. Every Met had at least one hit, five players had multi hit games, three had 3 hit games.

Robert Carson pitched very well today, scattering 6 hits and 2 walks, while giving up a run in 5.1 innings, for his first win of the season. Four relievers followed.

A South Atlantic League: Savannah 3/10/0, Rome 2/8/1 in 10 innings

Wilmer Flores was again intentionally walked today, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and no outs, but Nick Santomauro’s walkoff single made the Braves pay, and gave the Gnats a 3-2 10 inning victory. Pedro Zapata, Juan Lagares and Santomauro all had multi hit games, while Jefry Marte, Cesar Puello and Alonzo Harris took 0-fers. The win went to Erik Turgeon in relief, after he worked 3 scoreless innings of relief. The Gnats were 4 for 9 (.444) with RISP, but left 10 on base and struck out 13 times, while walking 3 times and gathering 10 hits.
