If Momentum Is Tomorrow’s Starting Pitcher, Mets Have None…
John Maine’s outing last evening brought out concern from the manager. He’s not the only one, is he Met Nation? Because of the high pressure and microscope the Mets currently operate under and the fact they don’t have anything of note SP wise on the farm, they really don’t have much latitude or depth to make changes in the rotation at this time… Maybe Hisanori Takahashi for John Maine, but beyond that, it’ll be tough. [...]

Maine In Bad Place, Could Get Yanked From Rotation
When asked If Maine’s spot in the rotation was in jeopardy, Jerry said, “Well, I think those things we’ll have to talk about. I think right now, right after this game, you know, you have to sleep on that and see how you feel tomorrow and hopefully he feels OK. But, you have to have dialogue about it. That’s just the business that we’re in.” Could this be a possible indication that Maine will be [...]

4.13 Minor League Report! Evans, Wilmer!
AAA International League: Buffalo 3/10/0, Syracuse 4/10/0 Tobi Stoner had a poor outing tonight, giving up 4 runs on 7 hits and 3 walks in 5 innings for his first loss of the season. The Bisons offense had 10 hits and a walk, but were hitless with RISP (0 for 6) and left 7 on base. Fernando Martinez (2) had the only multi hit game, no Bison took an 0-fer. rf Jesus Feliciano 1 for [...]

Is There Something Wrong With Johan?
As of right now Johan Santana will be pitching once again on 6 days rest which gives him an extra day off. Normally this would be a good thing but Johan is not a typical pitcher. For some reason Johan has trouble pitching on extra rest. It’s somewhat dumbfounding but that is the case with Johan. The Mets have to know this by now so of course they are going to pitch him with the [...]

Mets Should Look To Other Ohio Team For Help…
Last seasons’ wounds haven’t healed. Yet, sitting around discussing the current issues with this current incarnation of the NY Mets with some friends has revealed not panic, but apathy… Willie Harris catch has robbed us of a .500 start, but, more importantly, Johan Santana’s lack of velocity this past Sunday and really for quite some time, has me wondering if we’ll be robbed of an entire season… I have heard Mike Francesa on WFAN talk [...]

Clutch Hitting… Or Any Hitting At All
Experts, fans and anyone with a mouth speaks of such anti-Billy Beane topics as “clutch hitting”. I am here to bring an even crazier philosophy – one so insane, that if you comprehend it you may want to be institutionalized. Its called “hitting, period”. Unfortunately, this is a crazy, next level idea that only appeals to the insane and those who may be Mets fans. Now that I’m done with the sarcastic tone, I will delve [...]

Omar Minaya Was “Unprepared” For Aroldis Chapman
On Sunday, 20-year old Aroldis Chapman, who signed a six-year, $30.25-million contract with the Cincinnati Reds, made his first start for Class-AAA Louisville Bats. It was an electrifying debut for one who is sure to become baseball’s next big thing. Chapman’s fastball hit 101 mph on the radar gun and stayed in the high 90s throughout the game. He gave up no earned runs and allowed five hits (all singles) and one walk in 4 2/3 Innings pitched against [...]

MetsMerized Player Of The Week! (Week 1)
Guess who’s back? That’s right, it’s the MetsMerized Player Of The Week! I have to admit, I was itching to get back to doing this. It became a part of my weekly lifestyle, and it’s great to know Mets baseball has began once more. Sure, I’ll admit that we haven’t started off in the ideal fashion, but as Jerry Manuel said, judge the Mets after about 20 games. I’ll begin to really critique them after [...]

Jerry Manuel Continues To Mismanage This Team
Coming into 2010 we knew that there would be questions regarding the pitching, we knew that there were guys coming back from injuries and we also knew that the Mets needed a good start for Jerry Manuel to keep his job as the manager. The Mets haven’t started good, losing their first 2 series to the Marlins and Nationals at home. They’re currently 2-4 in the standings putting them in last place in the division. [...]
