Mets Release Josh Fogg
According to Adam Rubin of the Daily News, the Mets have released RHP Josh Fogg.
Fogg, who signed a minor league deal with the Mets in January, did not appear in a Grapefruit League game with the Mets this spring and so he requested his release to give him some time to catch on with another team.
R.A. Dickey is looking more and more like the next pitcher the Mets might cut bait with. Dickey has just a 9.00 ERA in five innings pitched this spring.
Look for the Mets to make some more cuts on Monday, and expect Dickey to be among those in the group.

Actually, I’d hope Dickey would accept a Shuffle off to Buffalo, Knuckleballers are relatively rare in the NL, the windy conditions of FL ST is certainly not conducive to flutterball control & I see no rationale for not investing more time in R.A. in the minors. There certainly would be no objections if Figgey got that option, we can let him languish in the boonies if he fails to get that floater flying in formation against the NL teams with high density rookie/sophomoric rosters a butterfly pitcher could be a remarkable asset.
Dickey was optioned to minor league camp in the first round of cuts (about two weeks ago) and accepted the assignment. That’s why he hasn’t been getting any innings.
