With the Mets hunting down every 2nd string 35+ year old catcher on the planet (hey Omar did you check all of South America, the Carribean, Japan, Korea, softball leagues?) you would think that the catcher position was the Mets biggest hole? Or is this just a smoke screen to make it seem that they are "active"? No wait, maybe the plan is to load up AAA Buffalo with old catchers and rotate them back and forth to Flushing.....

The mets need a good catcher, not a very expensive catcher. They need a really good pitcher, another good starter, and a productive left fielder. If they spend a ton on Molina they are making a mistake.

This is like a soap opera. Omar is pee'ing away the opportunity chasing after catchers when we need pitchers and power hitters. Just sign Barajas or Kendall and get it over with. Then get down to business before everybody goes home.

I still remember Klapisch describing Omar at his first winter meetings for the mets. Omar was in the hotel lobby, running up to and accosting every team official that went by, like "a car-chasing dog." Sounds like that is what is going on now. Who is next? LoDuca? Does this guy know what the word "preparation" means? The yanks have already done a major deal. You don't hear about them being interested in EVERYBODY who has ever worn a jock strap.

It seems like this catcher has the resume of another backup catcher. I say the Mets need to focus on Rod Barajas and get this catching situation over with already. Doesnt this guy still have a pending law suit or grievance or something? This just seems like a mistake to me.
