Hey All You Kids Out There, Keith Is Back!

According to the incomparable Marty Noble of Mets.com, SNY and Keith Hernandez have finally reached an agreement, and the most colorful color commentator (with apologies to Lindsay Nelson’s jackets) in Mets broadcast history will return in 2010 and 2011.
A person familiar with the situation said on Monday that Hernandez and SNY, the Mets’ cable station, have agreed in principle on a contract that will extend the color commentator’s relationship with the club and the network through at least 2011.
The person said that an agreement was reached last week and speculated that only details remained in the negotiations.
Darling and Cohen are already under contract for the 2010 season so basically the whole gang will be back. Ahh… now I can rest easy.

Went to my first Mets game, a Mayors Trophy game at Shea, in '73. We beat the Yankees 8-4 and I was hooked. I marched in two Banner Day parades, and before the Grand Slam single, there was the "Hendu Can Do" grand slam - I was there. I've collected Mets memorabilia all my life and started Mets Merized Online to feed my addiction.

Great news!! Keith Hernandez is my favorite Met of all time, and its great to hear that he’ll be back working with RJ and Gare. I’m sure all the kids at home are thrilled, even this middle aged kid.
