THINK OVERBAY – SNYDER AS UPGRADING 2B NOT ADDING A ‘C’; TORONTO IS LOSING BARAJAS & WAS LOOKING TO ADD SNYDER BY DEALING OVERBAY STRAIGHT UP. IF WE GET OVERBAY IN THIS 3-WAY, TURN HIM INTO SNYDER AS 1 MORE CHIP IN A HALLADAY OFFER. LIKE IN CHESS, IT’S THE MOVE BEHIND THE MOVE THAT’S MOST EFFECTIVE. U ARE DEFINITLY RIGHT THOSE 2 OLD MEN ARE BETTER OPTIONS IN NY THAN SNYDER. I BELIEVE BENGIE IS THE MOST ADVANTAGEOUS BOTH FROM A ‘LEADING THE STAFF’ & OFFENSIVE PERSPECTIVE. I BELIEVE OMAR’S REAL OBJECTIVE IS UPGRADING 2B WITH EITHER HUDSON OR FIGGINS; BUT FIRST HE KNOWS HE HAS TO MOVE LUIS. WHAT BETTER WAY THAN POTENTIALLY FOR A HALLADAY CHIP. JAYS YOUNG NEW GM IS GOING TO NEED TO SHOW SOME RETURN ON THE MLB FIELD FOR DEALING AWAY HIS FRANCHISE.RETURN CAN’T ALL BE OUT OF SIGHT IN MINORS

There are 2 catchers better for the Mets than those mentioned in these posts: Zaun and Kendall. Either of those with Santos will fill the catching need and be affordable, leaving plenty of buying power in place to fill the power and pitching needs.

ANDY, I THINK THERE MAY BE SOMETHING BREWING ESP WITH THAT RUMORED 3 WAY LOSING CASTILLO & BRINGING US OVERBAY WHO OMAR MAY PASS ON TO SNAKES FOR SNYDER. THAT STILL SHOULDN’T PREVENT A MOLINA ACQUISITION IF, U BELIEVE BOTH SANTOS & THOLE WITH LESS THAN 162 MLB GAMES CAUGHT BETWEEN THEM, NEED MORE SEASONING. THEY COULD POSSIBLY INK MOLINA AS #1 KEEP SNYDER AS #2 TEMPORARILY TO TRY DEALING HIM AS A MIDSEASON INJURY REPLACENMENT(HIGHEST VALUE) SOMEWHERE IN ORDER TO RECALL SANTOS FOR #2. SNYDER WOULD ALSO BE AN EXCELLENT INJURY REPLACEMENT SHOULD MOLINA’S AGE CATCHUP.

Brian Schneider’s contract is up at the end of the season and I can’t see them bringing him back on the decline of his career.

no way to Snyder. and as much as i would love to have Haren or Reynolds, or both, they won’t be traded.

I think that offer would get you a dialtone from AZ. Thats a good offer for Haren, but not nearly enough for both.

Good hitter usually have an OBP over .300, Molina does not. He hits some HR’s, but he really doesn’t do anything else well. His arm isn’t what it used to be, he might be the slowest player in the majors, and he’s not as good a defender as he was 5 years ago. Add to that the fact that he’ll likely be the most expesnsive FA catcher this offseason, and you have a guy we really should stay away from.

Gee whiz,you really think they could get Reynolds and Haren? FMart,Davis and Pelfrey-would that be enough? I hate to give up Davis though,maybe Murphy instead?
