So, the Mets actually had to buy $50 million dollars worth of TV's so that those fans actually in the park could see the game - on TV. This sums it all up, doesn't it?

Ironicaly, it's CitiField that ended up being the waste of space. All that taxpayer money and just a 4th place team to show for it.

As I understand it, Citi only coughed up for the naming rights, not the construction itself. So Citi's financial condition should have no bearing on the condition of the stadium.

I figured as much. Citi Corp was almost bankrupt when this place was being built. it only makes sense that they were skimping on quality for the new baseball park.

The Mets were so blinded by their quest to build a memorial to the Dodgers, that they neglected to ensure they were getting what us taxpayers essentially paid for, not to mention the hundreds of millions of dollars in tax free bonds they got. What gets little mention was how many obstructed views the park has, so much so that they had to install $50 million dollars worth of plasmas in August so that people seated in those seats can watch on TV. It's a beautiful park, even if took months of fan backlash until they added finally some Mets memorabilia two weeks ago.

You are a fool dogman! If it's news, and it is, it should be reported. Get your pompous head out of your butt and hit the road. This story is being reported by all major Mets blogs and tri state sports papers. Great job as always Metsmerized for keeping Mets fans informed of all things going on in Mets nation.

Now not only does the team stink, but we have to take our lives in our hands to go to the games. Serves Wilpon right that he had to climb 4 flights of stairs. Maybe that will start to open his eyes a bit about the nature of his organization. Too bad about the stadium, that doesn't do much good for the David Wright commercials about union work.

This is nothing new. In the 1970's when "new" Yankee stadium was refurbished, the year it opened it had a bunch of problems, including cracking cement. Sadly though, as the Mets like to hype it, it was union job.

It's unfortunate that nothing seems to be going the Mets way this season. They're lucky that the sign didn't fall during a game, otherwise that could've been a tragedy.
