Carlos Beltran Returns Tonight
Carlos Beltran returns to the Mets starting lineup tonight for the first time in more than two months, reports Bart Hubbuch of the New York Post.
While his return will not help the Mets avoid missing the playoffs for the third straight year, Beltran’s return should bring some legitimacy to the Mets lineup.
Prior to his injury, Beltran was tearing it up, hitting at a .336 clip with 8 home runs and 40 RBIs.
Even more impressive is that of his 81 hits, 39 of them were for extra bases.
Finally, there is some upbeat news to report. Hopefully John Maine is next in line to return.

Welcome back Beltran!
Finally my boy is bak
I am looking forward to three weeks of Mets baseball featuring an outfield of Pagan, Beltran and F-core. We could be looking at our opening day outfield in 2010. I’m hoping they stay productive and gel together. I’m also hoping that Beltran stays healthy and pain free with zero setbacks.
YEAH!!!!!!
