I saw that play with a friend. I was thinking how it was a comedy of errors and yet no one was there to announce it! Fcore makes the throw, Thole misses it on the big bounce, runner takes off for second, Uggla goes home only to see Dessens with the backup to throw the runner out at home.

What could had been a disaster ended the inning and no one was there to say a word about it…

As far as the Silent Sixth goes, I didn’t like it. I thought it would have been better to have the live comments regarding the play at the plate with Dessens backing up Thole and saving the run. That was a great play and to have the comments provided at the next inning took away all the spontaneity of the moment.

The Beltran event was too good to be true and the fantasy wish quickly evaporated into the reality of a dismal season.

Unfortunately for this game, Redding was wild and shwoed that consistency is the elusive goal that has not been discovered. The outcome was decied by this pitching performance and for it Redding gets the GOAT award.

GOAT for this game is Redding, but surprisingly, the first for him.

It definitely would have been the best moment of the season if that had ben a grand slam. I didn’t even pay attention to the broadcast after that because I knew the game was over right then and there. But it was great to see Beltran back, and he did make a nice sliding catch and stroke a double.
