I'm sure that there will be a land office rush by the other teams for Ollie and his contract! LOL.

I would love to see us keep Murphy as a utility infielder and pinch hitter. He reminds me in many ways of Dave Magadan. The problem is the mets look at him as an everyday first baseman.

I'm just glad we got him.
I agree the Mets need to make a LOT of moves in the offseeason.
Get rid of Redding, Hernandez, Perez, Green.
And sign a #2 started, powerful first baseman, and some better BP guys

Murphy is a great bench player!!
He is something the Mets need off the bench!!
He can play 3rd-1st-2nd.
But he better not be there 1st baseman next year,or cleanup hitter.
Id rather sign Delgado or Huff,or even platoon Murphy with Evans.

It can't be the case if we're ever to be a real team again. How far away is Ike Davis?

By the looks of this, at least we managed to do something positive this month. But mask is absolutely right. We need some players who can help this team now. And by the way, I forgot to mention it in my other comment, but is Murphy our answer at first base? Is murphy really our cleanup hitter and the heir apparent to Delgado? Please tell me that's not the case.

Finally, the Mets have shown that they are able to spend some money and also have some ability to negotiate. They were able to stay away from a 7 digit payoff and get the pricing demands reduced. At the same time, they were able to expend another $half mil on Zach Dotson. What a surprise that they actually got something done. There hasn't been much of that this season.

Now if only they could spring some bucks loose and pick up a real player or 2 who can actually help the team NOW!
