Jeff Francoeur is getting an MRI on his left thumb this morning, after injuring it while making a diving catch the half-inning before he hit into the unassisted triple play Sunday. The thumb swelled Sunday night.
Francoeur will be out of the lineup for Monday’s game and let’s hope that’s all he will miss.
Francoeur is hitting .305 with 6 homeruns and 24 RBIs with the Mets, leading all active players.
He will be another valuable loss if he ends up on the DL. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen.
On a positive note, David Wright is taking grounders before Monday’s series finale against the Phillies as he continues to make progress after suffering a concussion.
Also, lefthander Pat Misch has been optioned to Buffalo after his lengthy outing Sunday, and fellow lefthander Ken Takahashi will join the Mets from Triple-A Buffalo.

Murphy’s Law –> Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.
You’ve got to be kidding me, though. Whatever games fate is playing with us…We get it. Seriously.
The Grapes of Wrath:
We’re getting wacked real hard in the caboose by the karma train. What the heck did we do to deserve this? Who’s next, Pagan?
A day off for Jeff might not be a bad thing, let just hope its only a day. Francoeur has brought some nice fresh energy to the Mets, I hope he stays here and becomes a huge star.
Great news about David too!! He’ll be back before the season ends. A true gamer man.
He’s taking the 1969 tribute weekend a little too seriously. Can someone please tell Francoeur that was the worst Swoboda impression ever?
Kidding. Kudos to Jeff for being a gamer, coming up with the ball and arguing his case successfully.
