Billy Wagner continued his rehab tonight with another scoreless inning, with another strikeout.

Angel Calero had his best outing in a long while, but still took his 9th loss of the season, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits in 6 innings. The Mets offense held to 7 hits and 4 walks, and they went just 1 for 8 (.125) with RISP, and left 8 on base. Kirk Nieuwenhuis (2), and Carlos Guzman (2) had the only multi hit games, while Reese Havens (0 for 4, 3 Ks, .232), Zach Lutz (0 for 3, BB, .292), Seth Williams (0 for 4, K, .274), and Brahiam Maldonado (0 for 3, RBI, BB, .250) all took 0-fers.

The Gnats ran into Matt Way tonight, and he was dominant, scattering 3 hits while striking out 11 in 7 innings. Overall, the Gnats had just 4 hits and went 0 for 1 with RISP, leaving 3 on base and hitting into a DP (Jose Jimenez). Wilmer Flores, Eric Campbell (1 for 3, 2b, .249), and Jean Luc Blaquiere (2 for 3, K, .219) had the hits for the Gnats, everyone else took 0-fers. Eric Beaulac went just 4 innings, allowing 3 runs (1 earned) to take the loss, his 7th of the season.

Armando Rodriguez was victimized by 5 Met errors in the first 2 innings (3 by shortstop Gered Mochizuki) but survived to go 5 innings, allowing 7 hits, 3 walks and those 5 errors, but just 2 UER for his 2nd Appy win. Travis Babin made it interesting by allowing a pair in the 9th, but escaped with the lead.

The Mets offense had 8 hits and 4 walks, while going 3 for 10 with RISP, and leaving 5 on base. Richard Lucas (2) had the only multi hit game, while John Freeman (0 for 2, run, 2 BBs, K, .202, E (4)), and Mochizuki (0 for 3, .273, 3 E (16)) took 0-fers.
