don’t think omar is losing his job, and I don’t think he should based on this year….theres nothing for him to do……it makes no sense to trade prospects away for players who are just average players….

the message to manuel and omar stuff to me, mean nothing when the team is winning….

I’m sorry but I forgot to mention that I would also call for some hitters to either get brushed back or get knocked flat on their asses.
When we played the Phillies they ran all over us like we were pushovers. I would’ve picked a guy out, any guy, maybe Rollins and had my pitcher throw one right at his ass or his back, same thing with Chipper Jones. He bats without fear against us…he would’ve had one whiz right behind his back if I was in charge. At this point we have nothing to lose but if you’re going to make a fool of us then you’re going to have another thing coming and be damned the ramifications. That’s how I play the game.

It’s not a matter of getting mad and flipping over tables, it’s a matter of teaching fundamentals. Even in yesterday’s game in the first inning David Wright caught in infield popup at the mound with one hand. I was astonished to STILL see poor fundamentals. It’s every day with this team and that is the on-field manager’s fault. I understand we lost 3 of our top 5 hitters but if we were fundamentally sound and played smart, aggressive baseball and competed the right way we would have about 5 or 6 more wins. Manuel has to make note of each and every fundamental mistake each game then address the offending parties about it after every game. He has to get the entire team together and address things like the on-deck hitter helping out the runner scoring from 3B, picking up your 3B coach when rounding 2B and NOT turning your head and looking where the ball is – it slows you down. There are tons of little league mistakes the Mets are making…that is Manuel’s fault.

hey Denise..I can’t say I disagree with anything. It just keeps getting worse and time is going to run out quickly unless they can string a few wins together. And with this paltry run production (and awful pitching) that just doesn’t seem possible right now.

As long as we’re fewer games out than there are weeks left in the season, I cling to hope.

Anyway, I’m a Jets fan, so the 2009 Football Season doesn’t hold much hope for me either.
