Fernando Martinez to DL
New York Mets outfielder and top prospect Fernando Martinez’s injury woes have sidelined him again. Martinez was placed on the Disabled List due to inflammation behind his right knee. Martinez had missed the last four games, and had not played since July 3rd against the Phillies.
Infielder Argenis Reyes was called up to take Martinez’s spot on the roster. Martinez will likely retun to the minors after his rehab stint.
By my count I think this is the fourth or fifth knee injury.

A player sent to the DL? Shocking, it must be a day ending in “y”
At what point do we execute our trainer and medical staff? When they have to call ME up to play in the outfield, THEN will we admit there’s a problem here?
Pain behind the knee is becoming a very old story. Oh, so they finally decided to put him on the DL. They must have consulted this blog and found the recommendations of Mets fans over the last couple days. How come we figured it out before Mets mgmt? And why was little Reyes (batting .077) called up to replace him and not Cory Sullivan? Just one more sad story in a long list of sad stories.
IS “REAL” REASON TO REMOVE HIS NAME FROM TRADE DEMANDS?
