Binghamton 4, Erie 12

Eric Brown and company got oblierated today by the Seawolves, losing 12-4. Brown gave up the first 6 runs in 6 innings for his 9th loss, pushing his ERA close to 6. Stephen Clyne and Edgar Alfonzo also gave up multiple runs during their outings.

The Mets offense had 7 hits and 2 walks, and were 3 for 7 (.429) with RISP, but just didn’t have enough baserunners to overcome the large deficit their pitching put them in. Both Jose Coronado and Ruben Tejada left the game at various points, presumably due to injury. Coronado (0 for 2, .244), Jon Malo (cf, 2b, ss; 0 for 3, RBI, .267), Caleb Stewart (0 for 4, .164), Shawn Bowman (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .284), Emmanuel Garcia (2b; 0 for 1, run, BB, .278) and Mike Nickeas (0 for 2, run, BB, .143) all took 0-fers.

Scott Shaw had a very poor outing today, allowing 4 runs (3 earned) on 5 hits and 5 walks in 5 innings, but the Mets offense got him off the hook, and the bullpen turned in 4 innings of 3 hit shutout relief, with Josh Stinson picking up his first career FSL win. Manuel Alvarez pitched a hitless 9th for his 8th save.

The Mets offense had 8 hits and a walk, and were 3 for 7 (.429) with RISP, leaving 5 on base. Francisco Pena (0 for 3, BB, K, .227) took the only 0-fer for the Mets, no Met had a multi hit game.

Robert Carson had a no hitter through 5, and then the wheels came off the bus in the 6th inning, he imploded, allowing 4 hits and 4 runs in the inning, along with a FC and WP, to take his 6th loss.

The Gnats offense had 7 hits and 3 walks, while going just 1 for 5 with RISP and leaving 7 on base. Joey August (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .077), Eric Campbell (0 for 4, .267), Sean Ratliff (0 for 4, run, K, .271) and Jefry Marte all took 0-fers, while Wilmer Flores and Raul Reyes had multi hit games.

Another win for the stacked/ringer laden Cyclone roster, 9-8 over TriCity. The Conies pounded out 11 hits and drew 1 walk, while going 3 for 9 with RISP, leaving 5 on base. John Servidio, Matt Gaski and Luis Rivera had multi hit games, while Juan Centeno (one of only 3 prospects in the lineup today; 0 for 4, K, .250) took the only 0-fer.

Collin McHugh had an awful outing today, giving up 9 hits and 5 runs in 3.2 innings, but his offense bailed him out. Lance Hoge had an equally disasterous outing, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits in 2.2 innings. Matias Carrillo picked up the win with 2.1 scoreless, Michael Powers his 3rd save with a strikeout to end it.

Eduardo Aldama had a terrible outing tonight, giving up 6 runs (5 earned, Darrell Ceciliani error) on 9 hits and 4 walks in 5 innings, but the Mets got him off the hook with a run in the 9th. Tom Chism took the loss, giving up a run in the 10th.

The Mets offense had 12 hits and 4 walks, and did score 6 runs, but left 7 on base, had a baserunner thrown out trying to steal, and hit into 2 DPs. Every regular had at least one hit, Jeff Flagg and Ryan Mollica had multi hit games.
