Brad Holt had a miserable outing tonight, giving up 5 runs on 9 hits (4 homers, including a solo shot by the opposing pitcher) in 6 innings, but the Mets touched up Tim Alderson for 10 hits and 4 runs, then scratched across a pair in the 8th on a hit, balk, walk, bunt, SF, and WP, eeking out a hard fought 6-5 win. Jose De La Torre picked up the win with 2 scoreless, Connor Robertson notched his 6th save.

The Mets hammered out a total of 13 hits, and drew a walk, while going 2 for 6 with RISP and leaving 6 on base. Every Met regular had a hit in the game, with Emmanuel Garcia (2), Josh Thole (2), Ike Davis (2), and Jose Coronado (2) having multi hit games.

Manuel Alvarez got jacked up for 2 runs in an inning of work, plus allowed Josh Stinson’s IHR to score, blowing his 4th save and taking his 3rd loss, after a so-so outing from Scott Moviel. Moviel gave up 4 runs and 4 walks in 5.1 innings, but just 2 UER (thanks to his own error, and a Reese Havens error).

The Mets had 11 hits and drew 4 walks, while going 6 for 20 with RISP, leaving 10 on base. Stefan Welch (0 for 3, BB, K, .333; 3 for his last 25, after an 18 for 38 start in A+), Carlos Guzman (0 for 5, K, .252) and Francisco Pena (0 for 3, run, BB, .227) took 0-fers, while Reese Havens (2), Zach Lutz (3), Hector Pellot (2), and Brahiam Maldonado (2) all had multi hit games. Lutz had a perfect game with 3 hits and a walk.

The Gnats scored early, and then held off a furious Power rally, with Phillips Orta picking up his first win of the season, in back of an ineffective Eric Beaulac. Beaulac went just 3+ innings, giving up 7 hits and 4 runs in his shortest outing since being returned to the rotation on July 2nd. Rhiner Cruz picked up a 4 out save, despite allowing an IHR to score.

The Gnats had 8 hits and 3 walks, taking advantage of 3 errors along the way to score 7 runs. They were 3 for 11 (.273) with RISP, and left 6 on base. Imbewer Alvarez (came in for Raul Reyes, who left after 2 ABs, 0 for 2, RBI, 2 Ks, .172), Jefry Marte, Eric Campbell (0 for 3, 2 runs, RBI, BB, 2 Ks, .266), and Joey August (0 for 4, run, .103) took 0-fers, while Josh Satin and Jean Luc Blaquiere had multi hit games.

Well, another game, another ridiculously high scoring affair. Kingsport gives up 9 tonight, RA of 7.24, scores 7, RSA of 6.79. Might explain why they’re 10-19 on the season, RA of 7.24…

Kingsport hammered out 11 hits, and drew 5 walks, and also benefitted from 4 errors in scoring 7 runs, while going 3 for 12 with RISP and leaving 8 on base. Darrell Ceciliani (4), Richard Lucas (2), and Kurt Steinhauer (2) had multi hit games, while Alonzo Harris (0 for 3, 2 BBs, 3 Ks, .300), Ryan Mollica (0 for 3, K, .256 ->left with a head injury<-), Cesar Puello (0 for 5, 3 Ks, .263), and Pedro Zapata (0 for 3, K, .339) all took 0-fers.

Eduardo Aldama lasted just 2 innings, giving up 3 runs (2 earned) on 3 hits and 4 walks. Jonathan White gave up 8 hits and 4 runs in 4 innings to pick up his 3rd loss. Every pitcher (4) used by Kingsport gave up a run.
