Kyle Allen and 3 relievers combined on a 3 hit shutout tonight, and Jefry Marte continued his resurgance at the plate with 2 doubles, leading the Gnats to a 2-0 victory. Allen had one of his best games of the season, pitching into the 7th inning for the 2nd time all season (June 14th against Augusta), and matching his longest outing with 6.2 innings of 3 hit shutout ball. At one point tonight, Allen retired 12 of 14 batters, and after throwing 25 pitches in the first, needed just 67 more to get through his final 5.2 innings. Jacob Goldberg struck out the only batter to face him, stranding 2 of Kyle’s IHRs. Rhiner Cruz pitched a perfect 9th for his 16th save.

The Gnats had 7 hits and a walk, while going 2 for 8 with RISP and leaving 4 on base. The aforementioned Marte had the only multi hit game, while Josh Satin (0 for 2, .294), Kai Gronauer (0 for 3, 2 Ks, .237), and Joey August (0 for 3, 2 Ks, .087) took 0-fers.
