Vote For Meet The Mets!

By now you’ve heard all the crazy sing-a-longs the Mets have been showcasing in the eight inning. Here’s your chance to make “Meet the Mets” the official 8th inning sing-a-long.
According to press release from the team,
The New York Mets today announced the launch of an online fan vote to pick the Mets Eighth Inning “Sing-A-Long” Song at Citi Field. Voting begins now on Mets.com.
WFAN’s Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton assisted the Mets in compiling a list of songs by submitting their own selections.
Fans can log on to Mets.com to vote for one of the following:
Eighth Inning “Sing-A-Long” Song Nominees
- “Curly Shuffle”
- “Hooked on a Feeling”
- “I Like it Like That”
- “Mama Said Knock You Out”
- “Meet the Mets”
- “This Land is Your Land”
- “Twist & Shout”
Go to Mets.com and you will find the above poll at the bottom of the page. Be sure to cast your vote again, and again, and again!
Please don’t let any of those other songs beat out our beloved “Meet the Mets”.

Write Your Own Mets Post
Meet the Mets is the official song of the Mets. No Sweet Caroline and other songs allowed.
Basically, it’s between “Meet the Mets” and “Curly Shuffle”. Both songs were loved at Shea. None of the other choices (“This Land Is Your Land”? Please!) have a Mets feel to them. I would participate in a sing-along that gets me in a Mets mood. “Meet the Mets” is the obvious choice but I always loved “Curly Shuffle” during its 80′s heyday on DiamondVision. I wouldn’t mind singing “Hey Moe! Hey Moe!” again.
ummm…didn’t we already vote on this, and it was “I’m A Believer”? And then they switched it back to Sweet Caroline. Which, frankly, is hideous and lame, and furthers our image as a 2nd rate franchise because we’re stealing it from Boston. Weak, Weak, Weak.
At least I’m A Believer has kind of a Mets ring to it. But really, the rest of this list? Seriously? Is this the best we can do? (Curly Shuffle, despite it’s brief Met claim to fame, is best forgotten)
How about NO friggin’ 8th Inning Sing-A-Long. Lazy Mary in the 7th is singalong enough for me.
