Ollie Pitches Five Scoreless Against Class-A Renegades

Break out the champagne Mets fans, Oliver Perez pitched five scoreless innings this afternoon..
Oliver Perez started for the Class-A (short season) Brooklyn Cyclones today and beat the Hudson Valley Renegades
Perez allowed no runs on two hits in five innings pitched. He walked one batter and struck out six while throwing 72 pitches.
The Renegades lineup featured a half dozen players that recently begun their professional careers only seven days ago and most of them have never seen a major league changeup in their lives. So lets not get too excited until he can do as well against High-A or Double-A competition.
Still it’s better than saying he got pounded and gave up nine runs.
Thanks heavens for small miracles…

The way things are going Ill take it. Yeah its against a Class A team and all but its a start in the right direction
Yesterday’s performance may indicate that Ollie is now sound physically. The real question relates to his mental condition. That won’t be answered until he faces the real pressure cooker of Citifield. We csn only hope, but the Bad Ollie can return in an instant.
good news. I hope to see him in teh big leauges soon.
