Fire the hitting coach. Fire the pitching coach. Fire the first base coach. Fire the third base coach. Fire the bullpen coach. Fire the manager. Fire the Willpons.

Fire everybody but Omar, who keeps smiling.

If HoJo is such a good hitting coach, can someone explain why Fernando Tatis changed the way he holds the bat (as pointed out by Keith weeks ago), which has made his swing much longer and slower. Last year Tatis went great the other way and this year he is trying to pull everything and hits double play grounds to short and third. Where has HoJo been on getting on top of this problem with Tatis?

Howard Johnson is very proud that David Wright has changed his approach and sounds like the subject of going back to way Wright used to hit has not been brought up. That is his job. These guys also do not hit well in key situations and that is Ho Jo's job. I said back in April it was time to say goodbye to Howard Johnson. Since he took over the Mets haven't hit well at all.

CAPSLOCK=DISABILITY ACCOMODATION
JOHN DOESN'T GO AS FAR AS I'M WILLING TO:
MY RESPONSE IS SIMPLY, THIS IS THE MOST IMMATURE,EMBARASSING POST I'VE EVER READ ON ANY SITE IN ALL THE YEARS I'VE BEEN USING THE NET TO FOLLOW MY TEAM'S SO CALLED FANS. NOT ONLY WOULD IT ACCOMPLISH ABSOLUTLY NOTHING POSITIVE SINCE SILK PURSES(HR HITTERS) DON'T NORMALLY DEVELOP OUT OF SOW'S EARS(ARGENIS REYES, DANIEL MURPHY,FERNADO TATIS,RYAN CHURCH. NO GOOD CAN BE EXPECTED OUT OF REWARDING D.WRIGHT'S EFFORTS BY FIRING HIS "BASEBALL FATHER". WHILE, IN APRIL, DAVID'S APPROACH OF ESCHEWING HRS FOR BA, LIKELY MADE A LOT OF SENSE; I'M DISAPPOINTED NO ONE HAS THOUGHT A RETURN TO HIS ORIGINAL APPROACH IS WARRANTED AFTER BELTRAN & DELGADO WENT DOWN! THE LACK OF POWER STEMS MUCH MORE FROM WHO'S HOLDING THE BAT THAN WHAT VENUE IS USED. GIVEN 10 ABS, WHO ON YESTERDAY'S STARTING LINEUP (EXCL WRIGHT WITH OLD FORM) COULD BE COUNTED ON FOR 2 OR MORE HRs IN CIGARBOX PAR(CITIZENS BANK PARK)? NO ONE!

Sounds like a blood thirsty fan calling for the head of the hitting coach when the groceries he has has turned rancid. What I know about HoJo personally (as a reporter)is he is one of the hardest working and cerebial coaches around.

Before you call for someone's job, you better have more ammo than poor offensive productions in three consecutive games (you think he's pleased about that-the players all say he feels their anguish).

I think they scored 11 times last week. It seems everytime the team hits a rough patch, the call for severed heads goes out.

Sorry, Tyedied, you are off base with this theory.

Sheff is leading the team with 9 and Beltran with 8 and the rest is about 5 or less homers a piece.

It all comes down to strategy. This year's strategy is NOT to hit homers. And congratulations, they've been very good at achieving that goal. The only 2 players who didn't get the message are Sheffield and Evans. Sheffield does what he does and will go for the HR because that's what he does well and this is one of his last chances to move up the leader's list. He'll take mgmt direction with a grain of salt. Evans came up from AAA and hit one in his 2nd at bat. I'm sure he's been told to lay off the long ball already. Let's see if we can teach him to imitate Dave Magadan and surely not Carlos Delgado!

"I know we have 3 of our 4 hitters on the DL. But this team is lacking something."

The team is lacking something, you say. Yeah, look at the sentence you wrote just before it. Changing the hittiing coach is slightless more meaningless in baseball as changing the manager. Neither playes much of a role in anything. So, sure, go ahead. Fire the hitting coach. Fire some of the concessions guys while you're at it, and the Apple hasn't been going up enough this year, so fire the apple operator. Let's get this straightened out once and for all.
