Back then it was so easy to get players autographs before the game. Now you can't even get anywhere near them. Joel was the nicest guy. Don't know if that's what you meant. But the point is a good one and it does seem that playing .500 baseball will be enough to win the division by the looks of things. (Whether it's 1 game or 3 games over .500.) I'm a little angry that the Mets ares itting on their hands when just one bat could mean so much in a year where the NL East is so mediocre. You bet I remember it, I'll never forget it, that was one of the most memorable Mets games of that low point in Mets history. I had no idea Henderson was a coaching for the Rays. I often wonder what ever happened to most of those Mets. Some of the ones I enjoyed watching was Craig Swan who won an ERA crown back then, and Doug Flynn who won a gold glove, and Joel Youngblood who didn't win anything but I liked him anyway. I watched it like 5 times on my dvr it was so good. Hendu was my favorite player from that Seaver deal and I agree that he would have made it to the majors if he had stayed in Cincy.
