Mets Notes: Murphy Bats Third, Church Out Again
Daniel Murphy will hit third and start in left field tonight against the Braves. Fernando Tatis will again start at first base for the injured Carlos Delgado. If Delgado ends up on the DL, look for Murphy to begin getting playing time at first base.
Manuel said the team will evaluate Delgado on Friday and will determine if he needs to be put on the disabled list. While a guest on WFAN, Manuel said he wasn’t very encouraged about Delgado avoiding the DL.
Here is tonight’s lineup:
Jose Reyes, SS
Alex Cora, 2B
Daniel Murphy, LF
Carlos Beltran, CF
David Wright, 3B
Fernando Tatis, 1B
Jeremy Reed, RF
Omir Santos, C
Mike Pelfrey, SP
