Breaking News – Mets Callup Fernando Martinez

According to WFAN, Ryan Church and Jose Reyes have been put on the 15-day DL, Omar Minaua told reporters today.

Fernando Martinez has been promoted, and is on his way to Citi Field.

The Mets also traded cash to the Indians for minor-league SS Wilson Valdez, who will be promoted immediately to the 25-man roster.

Fernando Martinez will make his Major League debut in rightfield for the Mets tonight. He will be the everyday rightfielder until further notice. He will wear uniform number 26.

Martinez was batting .296 with 8 homeruns and 28 RBI, and his coming has been heralded on this site for the last three weeks.
