Programming Update For Saturday’s Game
The Saturday night game between the Florida Marlins and the New York Mets when they go down (down) in Miami has been moved to 6:10 from it’s previous time of 7:10. SNY does not pick up coverage of the game until 7:00 because FOX Saturday Baseball has an exclusivity timeframe from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Saturdays.
What that means is that when FOX airs a Game of the Week on Saturday afternoons, no other game may air any part during that time, unless FOX waives the right for the markets involved at the times involved. Before you spin your head right round (right round) making sense of it, here’s a simple translation: Unless FOX allows SNY to start coverage of the game at 6:00, the first hour of the Mets-Marlins game WILL NOT be televised anywhere. SNY will pick up the game in progress at 7:00, the earliest that they are legally allowed to without a waiver. WFAN should still have full coverage.
The Marlins moved the game time up because they have to accommodate a concert in the Stadium after the game by Flo-Rida. [Bad Joke Warning] So the Marlins moved the game time up (up) so Flo-Rida can go down (down). Ain’t nothin more beautiful to be found, if this game went into extras.
If you don’t get the references and bad jokes, blame his most notable song, Right Round, because it is too catchy and I could not resist.
Till Next Time
