I hate the black uniforms. Leave the fashion statements to the Marlins and other teams without history. Stick to your pinstripes at home, the grey away, and blue caps. Baseball is about tradition, and the new jerseys make us look stupid.

I think the black is pretty nice, I really like the jersey. I’m happy they ditched the black road because it wasn’t great at all, and it was just one extra jersey we didn’t need. I know what you guys are saying with the road gray and blue with it. I remember seeing that again when the Mets played the Yankees in a day-night, 2-stadium double-header. I would like to see that more on the road than the black. The black should really only be used as a home jersey, but I think it’s pretty cool-looking.

I’m guessing that I’m younger than most of you, but I like the black. The solid black and the solid whites are my two favorites. Plus, it’s slimming

I personally have always enjoyed the black unis…while I love the solid whites at home and the grey road unis as well, the black has been my favorite since its debut. By the way, I know it’s traditional and all, but I HATE the pinstripe jersey…the solid white looks 1000 times better. Do I want to see the Mets wear the black unis all the time? No. But don’t eliminate them or keep them to just a day of the week. Maybe once a series bust out the blacks at home, and once every 2 series on the road, wearing the solid white or greys the other times.

You know, a blue jersey top would look awesome! Like the ones they used to use for BP. Picture them with the pinstripe pants! They would look really sharp!

Oh and by the way I like the black shirts the best, I think they should throw in that blue jersey they were sporting in the 80′s.

Take these into consideration as pluses: Only the Marlins are above .500 in the division and while I acknowledged their presence early as their young pitching staff has held it together, I knew they would be trouble. (2) As bad as the Mets have looked, they are still within quick reach of first with a few win streaks put together. (3) I think it is good that Manuel is trying to light a fire or 6 here and holding these guys accountable. His job is on the line anyway and so should Omar’s. (4) .286 team batting average is a great thing (timely hits and the Mets could really be 11-4)they have only been roughed up in what 4 maybe 5 games? (5) Mets have a core of good players regardless of what anyone is saying, Reyes, Wright, Beltran, Santana, Frankie, Putz, the other 18 just have to fufill the roles they were brought in to do. The one negative on this team is the lack of consistent, fundamental, hard-nosed, passionate play! Unfortunately this has been the “Achillies Heel” now for 3 seasons running one time or another. They seem so laxed, uninspired, so a matter of fact! Go Mets 2009!
