An article by posted on March 9, 2009

On Saturday we ran a poll…

Who Should Be The Mets Number 5 Starter?

We have registered over one hundred additional votes since yesterday, and Pedro’s numbers continue to rise. Pedro now stands at 59% with 262 votes, followed by Tim Redding in second place with 19% and 83 votes.

Today, Ron Darling said that the thing that was most impressive about Pedro Martinez was not that he beat the Netherlands, but that he was consistently hitting 91-92 MPH on the radar gun. Pedro only topped out at 86-87 MPH last season.
