Pelfrey Pulls Up Lame

Several sources have confirmed that Mike Pelfrey suffered a muscle strain in his lower left leg during his bullpen session on Friday.

The plan is that there is no plan and that he will be sidelined until he is pain-free.

The Mets made the announcement this afternoon.

Pelfrey felt the soreness at the end of the session and was examined by team doctors, who then ordered him to rest.

Hopefully this is nothing and will be a non issue by the start of next week. Of course when you play in New York, nothing is ever a non issue.

Went to my first Mets game, a Mayors Trophy game at Shea, in '73. We beat the Yankees 8-4 and I was hooked. I marched in two Banner Day parades, and before the Grand Slam single, there was the "Hendu Can Do" grand slam - I was there. I've collected Mets memorabilia all my life and started Mets Merized Online to feed my addiction.
