Mets Sign Nine Including Dan Murphy

The Mets took care of some business today and signed the following nine players for the 2009 season.

Dan Murphy – $401,000 (Will get close to 425 AB this season barring a disaster.)

Nick Evans – $403,000 (I wonder why he got more than Murphy?)

Robinson Cancel – $408,000 (I think he will get 80-100 at-bats this season)

Rocky Cherry – $406,000 (I feel like running to Dairy Queen when I read this guys name.)

Sean Green – $471,000 (I hope he thrives for us this year.)

Eddie Kunz – $400,000 (What happened to his closer of the future status?)

Jon Niese – $400,000 (Lets hope he’s as good as advertised.)

Bobby Parnell – $400,000 (Most likely in Buffalo all year.)

Conner Robertson – $400,000 (Remember him? We got him for Schoeneweis.)

Brian Stokes – $409,500 (I hope he can build on last season’s stint with the Mets.)
