I believe the Royals also have to forfeit a hight draft pick for signing Cruz. Which is why he lasted so long on the market. MLB needs to do something about this rule. Its one thing to lose your 1st rounder when you sign a guy Like Texiera or Sabathia, its quite another when signing ODog or Cruz cost you a first rounder. Selig, step it up bud.

Good move by the Royals. They have Soria at the back end and this offseason they have signed Farnsworth and now Cruz. Good to see a team like the Royals be active in the offseason.
