The Steroid Scandal Continues
Like a recurring nightmare, the steroid scandal just won’t go away. Baseball fans awake in a cold sweat and are bombarded with analyst of why players with superior talents, such as Alex Rodriquez, Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire, Andy Pettitte, and Roger Clemens, among too many others, would tarnish their lofty accomplishments in the name of greed. That is what starting the performance enhancing ball rolling in the first place; The drive to be the [...]

Delgado Was Robbed Of MVP Award By A-Rod
David Lennon of Newsday, gives us another reason to be angry at the A-Roid revelation, and opens up an interesting debate. Remember, it was Delgado who finished second to Alex Rodriguez in the 2003 AL MVP vote. A-Rod was first with 242 points, including six first-place votes. Delgado was second with 213 points, including five first-place votes. Of course, in the past 72 hours we’ve learned that A-Rod cheated in 2003, and he admitted Monday [...]

The Mets Are America’s Team
Yes it’s true. He told me himself, the legendary Captain America. This past week I took a vacation to Universal Studios in Florida. Being a Mets fan, I couldn’t go to Universal Studios and not represent the Mets properly. So I put on the new stadium jacket my cousin got me for Christmas and headed out. Plus it was unseasonably cold so it served as warmth too. Among all of the cool things to do [...]

Gammons Gives Beltran His Props
Peter Gammons of ESPN, had an interesting article on defense, and how it may be one of the reasons why Manny Ramirez, Adam Dunn and Bobby Abreu are making teams think twice about them. In his article he praises Carlos Beltran. Nowhere is it more evident than in center field. Most of the clubs that discussed the subject had Minnesota’s Carlos Gomez rated the best defensive center fielder in the game last season, in most [...]

Mets Outlook For 2009 Season
Here is a 2009 Mets outlook from Sports Illustrated’s point of view. For a complete team-by-team look at the National League entering spring training, read the full article at SI.com. Coming off their second consecutive September collapse, the Mets were called “choke artists” by Philadelphia ace Cole Hamels. The only effective response would be a playoff berth. New York spent the offseason in pursuit of pitching and overhauled a horrendous bullpen by signing Rodriguez and [...]

Baseball Dies With The Player’s Association
Imagine a clear, blue summer day. The sun is shining brightly and you are on your way out the door to see a baseball game. Upon arriving to the stadium, the only thing you hear is dead silence. There are no other fans walking around. No children excited to see their favorite baseball players. No sounds of the crack of the bats during warm-ups. Nothing! Just silence! Then you suddenly remember what happened. The Players [...]

Latest Mets Rumors: Abreu, Castro, Ohman, Ayala
The rumor mill continues to churn as spring training rolls in later this week. The Ramon Castro trade rumors won’t subside, and like the saying goes… where there’s smoke there’s fire. MLB Trade Rumors reports that Baseball America’s John Perrotto has sources that tell him the Mets are still actively pursuing a trade for Ramon Castro. I only wonder why the Mets have waited so late in the off season to address this latest concern [...]

MLB.com Fantasy Baseball Rankings
The MLB Fantasy Baseball Rankings have came out, and they have ranked 800 players. I don’t take too much stock in the fantasy rankings, but its also nice to see your players recognized. One debate I hear a lot with Mets fans is who is better, Reyes or Wright? Well MLB.com also has a hard time deciding as they ranked Wright number 4 and then Reyes number 5. Here are MLB.com’s top 10 players: 1. [...]

Freddy Garcia Will Be A Big Sleeper This Season
If you were like me, you probably didn’t even bat an eyelash when you heard that the Mets signed starting pitcher Freddy Garcia. I just looked at it as another one of those classic Omar Minaya moves. You know the ones.. Minaya has become quite adept at resurrecting the careers of players who were left on the side of the road for dead. Some of the most recent examples include Jose Valentin, Damion Easley, Fernando Tatis, [...]

The reasons we love the game are diverse. But one thing that makes the grand ol’ game so magical is the numbers. If you don’t like stats, then this is not the game for you.
