Go Home And Get Your Shinebox
It must be great to be down in St. Lucie watching the Mets play baseball in the sun while most of us freeze out tushes in the tri-state. I envy Matt Cerrone from MetsBlog who seems to be having the time of his life at Tradition Field during the day, and then at hot spots like Duffy’s at night. You should read his daily updates if you can as he documents not only all the action on the field, but all the little things as well like the comments from fans in the stands, or people he bumps into throughout the day. It’s a lot of fun.
One of things I read today (besides Luis Castillo striking out in his first at-bat after an 0-fer yesterday) was that John Maine is looking good and didn’t display any discouraging signs stemming from the surgery. Whew…
The other thing that stood out from today’s intra-squad game was that David Wright smoked a Mike Antonini pitch about 415 feet into the Florida sky for a homerun. This was just one out after Carlos Beltran deposited a three run homer high over the 12 foot wall in left field. Nice!
Welcome to the big leagues Mike Antonini…
Now go home and get your shinebox…
