Lol, I was thinking the same thing James. If F-Mart is like a 20 year old version of Moises Alou then the Mets are looking set for years to come.(When Moises was younger he didnt have all the injury problems he has now as a mid-40s outfielder.)

Back in 2003 i wanted J Reyes traded cause he was injured often, but here i am 6 yrs older and baseball wiser and realize that F Martinez is only 20 yrs old and some kids bodies just different and take more time to develop than others…. Martinez is gonna be just fine

Reyes was the same way i say wait on him because i was watching the gm the other day that he homered in and he barely showed any effort on a ball he hit about 400 ft. Amazing !

F-Mart has started hitting with power and average so he is progressing as expected.
The trip to NY is apparently just precautionary, but it is also an indicator of the value the Mets place on him.
I expect all will be OK shortly and he’ll have a good year, maybe a breakout year, in Buffalo.

I think F-Mart will probably be a bust like the once untouchable Alex Escobar ended up being.

thats a great point, Bayonne, but both showed plate discipline in the minors, which I have yet to see from Martinez..I’ve seen him play multiple times, and, know he’s young, but those who would like to see him in New York this season are crazy..he won’t be ready until next year. earlierst.
