Remains Of The Day… K-Rod Style!

I’m still so excited about the prospect of seeing K-Rod save his first game as a Met!

Did anybody ever really doubt that K-Rod was coming to the Mets all along?

So now, what’s next?

Well, we have a bunch of new posts scheduled for tomorrow that will explain all that, but for now, just enjoy these little tidbits from tonight at Vegas.

According to Enrique Rojas from ESPN.com, the Omar Minaya still envisions Pedro Martinez returning to the Mets in 2009.

Hmm… really? I know that signing Pedro was a huge milestone in Mets history, but isn’t it time to move on at this point?

Mets manager, Jerry Manuel gave his own press conference today, and when responding to a question about Luis Castillo, he said he would consider using Castillo in the lead-off spot next season to get him going again.

Ha, ha, ha… For those of you who don’t know, that’s “Gangsta Talk” for “Please Omar, take this freaking guy off my team, I beg of you!”

The on again, off again rumors that have the Mets sending Aaron Heilman to the Rockies for Huston Street are back on again.

Good! They never should have been off again to begin with. Getting Heilman off of this team, would be the greatest example of addition by subtraction that I have ever seen!

C.C. Sabathia rejected the Yankee’s $140 million dollar offer, and could be heard saying, “We don’t need no stinking millions.”

Did you hear the joke about the Iraqi guy who walks into a 7-11 and…. I’m only kidding, but that Sabathia story was really floating around the Bellagio all night long, but was denied by Brian Cashman. This is almost as funny as last off season when the Yankees said Hughes, Kennedy and Chamberlain would lead the 2008 Yankees rotation to the World Series.

Sweet dreams, Mets fans… K-Rod is in da house!
